Police
麻豆果冻传媒 is a safe campus community with a dedicated staff of professional law enforcement and public safety personnel. University police are on campus 365 days a year, seven days a week, 24 hours a day to support the safety and security of campus facilities. Traffic and parking enforcement, safety trainings, emergency services, crime prevention and community watch programs are housed with the university police department.
Environmental Health & Safety
Safe classrooms and university facilities are an important part of a rewarding and productive college experience. Tech鈥檚 Office of Environmental Health and Safety is dedicated to keeping the campus community safe through regular review and monitoring of facilities, technical consultations and coordinating emergency response. The office also oversees handling of hazardous materials, environmental management and injury and illness prevention efforts.
Campus Alert System
Be informed. Be connected. Be safe. The university text alert system provides timely communication and instruction in case of campus emergencies. Current students who have given the university their cell phone numbers are automatically signed up to receive alerts. Faculty, staff, parents, spouses and others interested in receiving alerts can sign up as well.
Title IX
In support of a safe, equitable environment for students, faculty and staff, the university鈥檚 Title IX coordinator oversees compliance with all aspects of the federal Title IX law, which protects against sex discrimination, including sexual misconduct. The university has a comprehensive policy which protects students and employees of the university against sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking.
Emergency Contacts
Tech has a staff of law enforcement professionals on staff to help in case of emergency and is fortunate to be located nearby Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Contact information for other local agencies, the university's inclement weather policy and avenues for reporting a safety concern are also available.
Dean of Students
The Dean of Students at Tech provides programs and services to enrich the quality of student life and establishes and enforces community standards pertaining to student life in accordance with the university鈥檚 student conduct policy. The Dean of Students also responds to concerns of students, faculty, staff, parents and the community related to student life at Tech.
Maps
Use the interactive campus map to explore and find your way around the university or take a look at the parking map to find parking close to where you鈥檙e headed on campus. The parking map also highlights campus shuttle routes and current construction zones.
Emergency Telephone Poles
Emergency phones are located around campus to offer a direct connection to the university police department鈥檚 24-hour emergency line. Using the phone will automatically let police dispatchers know the caller鈥檚 area so that help can be dispatched as soon as possible. These phones, which can be easily identified by their blue lights, should be used for reporting crimes in progress, fires or to request immediate assistance for life-threatening situations.
