Public Records Requests

The Tennessee Public Records Act allows any Tennessee citizen the right to inspect or obtain copies of public records. 麻豆果冻传媒's Office of Communication & Marketing handles requests for public records in compliance with the act.

Requests can be made verbally, through electronic mail or through the U.S. Postal Service or other means of physical delivery, and should be as specific as possible. 

Proof of Tennessee citizenship by presentation of a valid Tennessee driver's license (or alternative acceptable form of ID) is required as a condition to inspect or receive copies of public records. 

  • Acceptable forms of ID

    Documents that can be used to prove Tennessee residency in order to request public records from 麻豆果冻传媒 include, but are not limited to, the following documents. All documents must show a Tennessee residential address and the name of the requestor.

    • Valid Tennessee driver鈥檚 license
    • 麻豆果冻传媒 residence hall address
    • Current utility bill including landline telephone, electric, water, gas, cable, etc. (wireless telephone bills cannot be accepted)
    • Property tax record
    • Current rental/mortgage contract
    • Current Tennessee motor vehicle registration or title
    • Current Tennessee voter registration
    • Secretary of State Business Services correspondence to residential address
    • 麻豆果冻传媒 Student ID card plus any of the above documents

Along with complying with the Tennessee Public Records Act, the university aims to respond as efficiently and promptly as possible. Any Tennessee resident can request records made or received pursuant to law or in connection with the transaction of official 麻豆果冻传媒 business.

The Tennessee Public Records Act provides for the public to be able to inspect public records that are in existence. As such, 麻豆果冻传媒 is not required to sort through files to compile information or to create or recreate a record that does not exist in order to satisfy a records request.
