Bryan Symphony Orchestra (MUS 1080)

The BSO is open to Music Majors by audition only. String, Woodwind, Brass & Percussion music majors rehearse and perform along-side their studio teachers and other professionals from throughout the region for sold-out audiences six times per year.

麻豆果冻传媒 the BSO

Begun in 1963-64, the Bryan Symphony Orchestra has brought both classical and pops music to its audience, thanks to the concerted efforts of both the community and university for more than 50 years.

Its annual programming provides a unique opportunity for outstanding music students to play alongside their teachers and mentors. BSO concerts are a collaborative effort of the community-based, non-profit Bryan Symphony Orchestra Association and the Tennessee Tech Department of Music.

Performances are in the 500-seat Wattenbarger Auditorium in the Bryan Fine Arts Building. The facility -- and orchestra -- are named for teacher and composer Charles Faulkner Bryan, a native son of the Upper Cumberland, and former Chair of the Music Department. He was also the first Tennessee musician to be awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.
