Wildlife and Fisheries Science B.S., Wildlife Science Concentration

The Wildlife Science concentration is designed for students interested in the study and management of wild animal populations. The program focuses on courses covering wildlife ecology, techniques and polices used to manage animal populations, habitat management, and conservation techniques. The concentration emphasizes applied science, meaning students in this major are focused on active problem-solving of real-world problems. Students can engage in fieldwork, research projects, and internships to gain practical skills and knowledge.

Graduates can become wildlife biologists, park rangers, conservation officers, wildlife rehabilitators, and environmental educators. These professionals work in various settings including state wildlife agencies, federal wildlife agencies, environmental consulting, natural resource agencies, non-governmental organizations, national parks, wildlife management areas, research institutions, and various other public agencies and private organizations.
