Creating OERs
Definition: "Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that you may freely use and reuse at no cost, and without needing to ask permission. Unlike copyrighted resources, OER have been authored or created by an individual or organization that chooses to retain few, if any, ownership rights." ~from
OERs are often textbooks, but they can also be lesson plans, lectures, tests, videos, guides, full courses, etc. They are shared with a global community and can be used and adapted without your knowledge or compensation.
OER Commons hosts the for sharing OERs by Tennessee's colleges and universities. The "Getting Started" section at the bottom of the hub page has videos to help you create your resource in this hub.
