Metals Studio
The metals program at 麻豆果冻传媒 focuses on building a foundation of technical skill which enables our students to pursue careers in the contemporary metalsmithing field as jewelers, blacksmiths, studio artists and educators.
The BFA curriculum offers a series of classes in jewelry making, casting, hollowware, sculpture, blacksmithing, drawing, design and history, in addition to general academic studies. In these classes students are exposed to a broad range of techniques as well as the theory of metal work ranging from historical to contemporary.
Emphasis is placed on craftsmanship, critical thinking and creative problem solving through design. The process of making through both traditional and contemporary means is taught with an emphasis on personal creative development.
Students design and create solutions for functional and aesthetic problems using progressively more advanced tooling and techniques. Projects range from fine jewelry to architectural ironwork.
