Active Projects
Active Service Projects are service events going on that require student volunteers to help make the event possible for the public. Partnering agencies request volunteers and all requests are posted here. The benefits of choosing active (random) projects are that you can get quite a few hours in one day or one weekend as well as you will get a very eclectic volunteer experience, networking with multiple nonprofit professionals.

Fall Fun Fest 鈥� September 6-7, 2024
Cookeville's 27th Annual Main Street Festival. Be part of the action! Fall FunFest runs on volunteers! There are an assortment of roles and time slots available for individuals or groups interested in lending a hand.
Upper Cumberland Foster Closet
鈥淲e hope to act as a resource that foster families can quickly visit upon receiving a placement and get items these children need such as: clothing, shoes, carseats, and other basic needs, free of charge. Through the generous donation of these items from our local community, foster families will be able to use their own resources in other ways while the children are in their homes.鈥�
Helping Hands
鈥淗elping Hands of Putnam County is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance to individuals and families facing poverty or crisis. Our services include food, utilities, medical expenses, rent, and gas vouchers for out-of-county medical appointments. We are committed to supporting those in need and helping them overcome challenges.鈥�
Cookeville Rescue Mission
Students and organizations can volunteer to help the Cookeville Rescue Mission prepare and serve food to those in need, or with other Rescue Mission programs.
Habitat for Humanity
Volunteer for the construction team, Habitat ReStore, or administrative work in the Upper Cumberland!
Putnam County Animal Shelter
鈥淲e strive to provide the best quality of care for our animals and the best experience for our visitors. We rely heavily on volunteers to help us achieve this and are always looking for more dedicated volunteers to join our team. Once trained, volunteers are free to choose their activities and make their schedules. We also need foster caregivers to provide short-term housing for select shelter animals.鈥�
Imagine Foundry
鈥淲e thrive because of people like you! If you enjoy working with kids, you can volunteer at our Challenge Quests, community events, or Make 鈥榥 Take Sessions. We benefit greatly from the value added by community members and local businesses.鈥�
CRMC Pet Therapy Buddy
The Pet Therapy Buddy program is looking for people to join handlers and dogs while visiting patients, along with looking for new dogs to be certified and join!
