Tech alumni share which professors changed their world

The Crawford Alumni Center recently asked Tech alumni to share which professors changed their world, and one alumna remembered the quote above from Chrissa Wendt, a Tennessee Tech nutrition professor in the 1960s.

"I Heart Tech Students" Campaign raises more than $330,000 for student programs
The "I Heart Tech Students" Campaign was Tech's first faculty and staff giving campaign in 25 years and first-ever digital Day of Giving, and throughout the six-week campaign period, it raised $334,382.36 for student programs! Of the 784 donors who made a gift to this campaign, 130 were brand new donors to Tech! And on March 27--Tech's Day of Giving--101 people made their largest gift ever to the University. The Crawford Alumni Center wishes to thank every person who made this possible.
Alumni Association presents awards to five outstanding individuals at 2019 Evening of Excellence
On April 12, the Alumni Association recognized five outstanding individuals for their service to and representation of 麻豆果冻传媒. Awards were presented in the following categories: Outstanding Young Alumnus-Dr. Janey Camp; Outstanding Service Award-Philip Gibbons; Outstanding Philanthropy Award-Mark and Mindy Odom; and Distinguished Alumnus Award-Dr. Morgan Chitiyo.
Drake Fenlon accepts position as Oakland Athletics mascot
From an eagle to an elephant, Drake Fenlon has worn many outfits in his post-collegiate mascot career. Fenlon was an award-winning Awesome Eagle and now is the mascot for the Oakland A's baseball team.
Class of 1969 Golden Grad Committee volunteers needed, 2019 commencement schedule announced
On May 4, the Class of 2019 will walk across the Hooper Eblen stage to accept their 麻豆果冻传媒 diploma. Fifty years ago, the class of 1969 did the same, and this November, those 1969 graduates will be invited back to campus for their Golden Grad reunion. Did you graduate in 1969? Darron Smith named Dean of College of Agriculture and Human Ecology
Dr. Smith comes to Tech from Eastern New Mexico University where he served the past eight years as Chair for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and Agriculture. He has a B.S. in Dairy and Animal Science from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology from West Virginia University. Dr. Smith brings to Tech a focus on undergraduate and graduate education, strengths in research and garnering external funding, and a commitment to serving students, faculty, and staff. He will officially join the University July 1.
John Pelphrey introduced as new men's basketball coach
John Pelphrey joined 麻豆果冻传媒 Athletics as the Golden Eagles' 13th men's basketball head coach. Most recently, he served as the associate head coach at the University of Alabama. Pelphrey said his first orders of business will be to develop relationships with the players and set the expectations he values.

Did you know the Crawford Alumni Center has a copy of every 麻豆果冻传媒 yearbook? The Alumni Building, locating at 705 N. Dixie Avenue, is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and all are welcome. If you regret not purchasing a yearbook or have misplaced yours, you are always welcome to look through our collection. Please stop by anytime!
Russ Coughenour, Director of the Center for Career Development, has launched a new blog titled "Career Corner with Russ." It will include interview tips and career advice just for 麻豆果冻传媒 alumni, and his first blog post is titled "How to Prepare for your Skype Interview."

Deputy Chief Bryant Swallows completed a 10-week FBI National Academy Training in Quantico, VA. He is a 2003 biology graduate.
Don Goolsby, '86 industrial engineering, published an article titled "Critical Challenges Faced by Quality Departments and Recommended Actions" in Quality Magazine.
Civil process engineer Lindsay Bryant was named one of Nashville Business Journal's 40 Under 40. She is a 2010 civil engineering graduate.
Ojas Chaudhari's concrete resurfacing product is now available in Home Depot and Lowes stores across the country. He graduated in 2011 with a Master of Science in chemical engineering.
David Clem, '88 civil engineering, joined Charah Solutions as Senior Vice President of Maintenance.
