Dr. Indranil Bhattacharya is a tenured Professor, and Interim Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at 麻豆果冻传媒. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Florida State University. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in First Class with Distinction from India. He received the Tennessee Tech University Outstanding Faculty award in Teaching in 2023. Nominated by students, he also received the 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Centennial Scholar Mentor award in 2021. He received the College of Engineering T.S. McCord award in 2024. He also received multiple Wings Up 100 research awards. His research interests are in sodium and lithium-ion batteries, III-V semiconductors, wireless power transfer and electromagnetic fields. He is the Principal/Co-Principal Investigator of $7.2 million funding with 9 grants from the National Science Foundation and 2 from the U.S. Department of Energy. He is the major research advisor of 10 Ph.D., 16 M.S. and 55 undergraduate students. His students have received first prizes in Annual Student Research and Creative Inquiry Day awards for the past seven years. He has mentored an NSF GRFP awardee. During his Ph.D. studies, he received state-wide top STEM research award among participating researchers from all universities in the state of Florida and also two-time innovators award from the Florida State University. He is a senior member of IEEE and is the main inventor of 3 US patents.
