I am a molecular biologist working in the area of aquaculture genomics and bioinformatics. My research areas include genome structure, organization, architecture, whole genome sequencing, genome expression and transcriptome analysis, mapping of performance and production traits, and most recently, reproductive traits such as sex determination, and genetic and epigenetic regulation of sex determination and differentiation. For the most part, we have used channel catfish and blue catfish as research models to understand genome similarities and divergence, reproductive isolation, and heterosis of the interspecific hybrids.
