    Distress Protocol Workshop

    All Academic Affairs faculty and staff are invited to join the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (°ä´¡¹óÉ) and the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness for a workshop on the student distress protocol. 

    The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness is committed to providing resources to ensure that a student in crisis is responded to quickly, responsibly, and in an empathetic manner. A distressed student may also display disruptive behaviors, which may be covered by student conduct policy, and not be addressed directly by this protocol. This protocol is designed to provide guidance to the campus community. It defines how to: 

    • Ensure a coordinated crisis response and review process. 
    • Recognize the signs that a student may be in distress; 
    • Establish a consistent framework for responding to the student in distress 
        

    Refreshments will be served.
